I have got many questions about hair chalks, but the most asked one is : “I saw you sell pastel boxed set hair chalks and the single colors tube pack hair chalk, what indeed the difference there of these two kinds of hair chalks?”
Well, if you are new to hair chalk and had never used them before, this might really bother you a while. So here I am going to answer this question in this post.
The pastel hair chalk is the original way for hair chalking. At first people are all rubbing the colors to hair by using pastel hair chalks. ( soft pastel chalk, not oil pastel). So basically, the pastel hair chalk is “soft pastel chalk”, these chalks are dry and a little hard than the single color tube pack chalks. When you are using these pastels, you should better dampen them in water then rub the colors to hair, or you can wet your hair 60% first, then apply the chalk colors. Or the colors might not be easily rubbed on hair.
This is the major difference for these two kinds of chalks. For single color chalks, they are basically a “second generation” product of hair chalk, they are soft and “exquisite”, you do not need to use them with water. You just rub them to hair, the colors will show up in hair perfectly.
Huh, if you ask me which one is better?
Personally I like the pastel chalks, because they are cheaper. And if you buy one box, you will get a lot of colors to try out, it is great to try them at home to DIY some nice colors. But if you are preparing a party or event, I would recommend you to buy the single color hair chalks, They are easy to use, convenient to carry and stock. You can even put several pcs in your purse.
